The one thing I love about this phone is that it’s the first one from HTC that is a world phone, so it will work anywhere in the world. The touchscreen is a 3.8 inch and the HTC Merge also comes with a 5MP sensor camera. You can choose to record 720p videos if you want.

Here is the first concept images of the Nokia smartphones which will come with Windows Phone 7 as its operating system, following the agreement signed last week between Microsoft and Nokia.

Thanks to Engadget, we get to see one of the first concepts to come out of the latest partnership between Nokia and Microsoft, which will see the Windows Phone 7 operating system used on all the smartphones from Nokia in the future. The design is somewhere between the C7 and the N8, so a Nokia fan can see that the lines will be kept.

To add my $0.02 to the mix, I’m not sure why the Nokia fans are so disappointed by the future use of Windows Phone 7 OS. From all the reviews I’ve seen online about the Windows Phone 7, this is a good OS for a mobile phone, that does a number of things quite well. More than that, I think Android needs a serious competitor on the mass market, so you have more than one choice if you’re not interested in getting an iPhone. Thanks to the huge number of phones that Nokia sells, Android will get a serious competitor and competition is always good for the consumer.

Nokia released the details on the new N97 that will be in stores near you in 2009

Like all the phones they have until now weren’t enough, Nokia just threw left and right with details about the new N97. Under the hood it rolls with a 3.5-inch, 640 x 360 pixel touchscreen display with tactile feedback and QWERTY keyboard. But wait, there’s more. HSDPA, WiFi, and Bluetooth radios, A-GPS, a 3.5-mm headjack, 32GB of onboard memory with microSD expansion (for up to 48GB total capacity), and a battery capable of up to 1.5 days of continuous audio playback or 4.5-hours video are also on the list. And last but not least, a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss glass and "DVD quality" video capture at 30fps, complete what we know about the N97 until now.

If this is worth paying €550 or $693, that is for you to decide when it will come out next year.

Samsung Omnia comes out just in time for the holidays.

It’s time to get busy making the X-mass list. Who cares if you got one month until then, you can never be too prepared. And I know some of you out there want what’s the best in mobile phones, so we got for you Samsung Omnia. Packing a 3.2” touch screen display and Windows Mobile 6.1, from what birdies told me in different reviews, it seems we are in for one of the best phones out there.

Let’s see what else we got under the hood of this Samsung phone. Well to start, we got the TouchWiz, that allows us users to tune and customize the phone the way we want it with widgets. You get one-touch access to the applications you use most. The keyboard is an on-screen QWERTY.

If this isn’t enough for you to add this baby on the X-mass list, here is some more for y’all: Opera 9.5 Mobile Browser support, a 5 megapixel camera with digital zoom and LED flash, video recording capability, stereo Bluetooth connectivity and Wi-Fi support. The retail price is $249.99 and a $70 mail-in rebate and agreeing to a 2-year contract. Not sure about adding this to my shopping list, but on my wish list, I definitely will add.

Asus buit the world's fastest smartphone, but brought nothing new with it

Ever wondered what is the fastest smartphone in the world? I didn’t. But in case there are people who actually did, i have the answer: the Asus P565. Packing a 800MHz Marvell processor may blow you off your seat, but it lost my attention when i saw it has Windows Mobile 6.1. Other hardware include a 480×640 touchscreen to help you acces the features inside this gizmo -HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS and 24fps video recording- and many others that are standard nowadays for a smartphone.
For me the Asus P565 doesn’t cut it, but there are people who buy phones twice a month or something like that just because they want to have the newest stuff. Compensating for something maybe?

The latest news is that Palm has decided to offer the 500v model unlocked in Europe, starting from next month. Right now Vodafone has exclusivity to the phone, but this is the last month that they have it.

While the specs for this model haven’t been revealed yet, we can assume that they will be the same as the Palm Treo 500v model that is currently offered by Vodafone.

These specs are:

320×240 display with 65,536 colours

Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR

tri-band GSM/GPRS and 3G

256MB of Flash memory

Micro SD slot for expansion

Since it will not be offered by Vodafone anymore, the 500v will lose the "v" letter and will probably be sold just as Treo 500.

The operating system will be Windows Mobile 6. The price is not known yet, but the current version is sold for £299.
