The latest news is that Palm has decided to offer the 500v model unlocked in Europe, starting from next month. Right now Vodafone has exclusivity to the phone, but this is the last month that they have it.

palm-treo-500v While the specs for this model haven’t been revealed yet, we can assume that they will be the same as the Palm Treo 500v model that is currently offered by Vodafone.

These specs are:

  • 320×240 display with 65,536 colours
  • Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR
  • tri-band GSM/GPRS and 3G
  • 256MB of Flash memory
  • Micro SD slot for expansion

Since it will not be offered by Vodafone anymore, the 500v will lose the "v" letter and will probably be sold just as Treo 500.

The operating system will be Windows Mobile 6. The price is not known yet, but the current version is sold for £299.
